Abstract

Self Confidence is one of the attitudes that every student needs to have. Low self confidence possessed by students can hinder their development, including in the learning process. Various attempts have been made by guidance and counseling teachers to foster students self confidence, one of which is through content mastery services. But in fact the services that have been provided have not achieved maximum results, so the purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of content mastery services using talk card media to increase the confidence of grade VII students of SMP VIP PESAWAT Wates Kulon Progo. The method used in this research is a combination of qualitative and quantitative which is designed in the form of guidance and counseling action research. The subjects in this study were 29 grade VII students of SMP VIP PESAWAT Wates Kulon Progo who were determined with special characteristics, namely students with low self confidence. Based on the results of the analysis of this action research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in self confidence obtained from the results of implementing content mastery services with talk card media for class VII students of SMP VIP PESAWAT Wates Kulon Progo. Keywords: Content Mastery Services; Talking Cards; Self Confidence

Abstract

This study aims to determine how parents' upbringing on children's behavior in playing gadgets during the pandemic. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the parenting style applied to children in playing gadgets generally uses democratic parenting. Parents' parenting behavior in responding to children who play with gadgets tends to use a gentle way, giving understanding to children about the negative effects of playing gadget and giving freedom to children to express themselves but still under strict supervision and control so that children use gadget for things the positive.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the problems of parents in assisting their children in learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature approach where in collecting information and data with documentation techniques and data on relevant matters from various sources in the library such as documents, books, magazines, news. The selection of news or articles can be classified based on discussion of COVID-19 and learning at home. This study was conducted to find various problems experienced by parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study found the problems experienced by parents who were researchers divided into three groups, namely technology, mental, and role.

Abstract

On the one hand, the development of social media can provide convenience to the community, both in communication, in developing science and in the economic aspect. But on the other hand, the development of social media also has a negative impact on society. One of the negative impacts of using social media is that it can cause personality disorders, give birth to narcissistic attitudes and behaviors and can interfere with mental health. This study aims to describe the narcissistic personality disorder, the symptoms of a person experiencing narcissistic personality disorder, efforts to overcome narcissistic personality disorder and the relationship between narcissistic personality and mental health. The method used is a research library. The data collection technique used document study, then analyzed using content analysis. The results of the discussion show that narcissistic personality disorder is basically a personality disorder caused by a person's excessive attitude or behavior in seeing himself. If the narcissistic personality causes disruption of life functions, it will have the potential to disrupt mental health.

Abstract

Counseling is helpful for adolescents to overcome their problems. A good counselor needs to know the background of the counselee. The counseling based on client's background will be more successful. Therefore it is necessary to practice Islamic guidance and counseling in high schools. In addition, counselors who handle Islamic guidance and counseling activities also need to have knowledge of Islamic values. So this research will examine the understanding of guidance and counseling teachers (BK teachers) regarding Islamic values and the application of these Islamic values in group guidance and counseling activities. The research was conducted in three Islamic-based high schools in the DIY urban area. The two schools studied were six-year boarding schools with students of the same sex. The approach of the research was qualitative approach and it’s data collection technique was in-depth interview. The results showed that the teacher of guidance and counseling has sufficient knowledge of Islamic values and the application of these values in Islamic guidance and counseling. The application of these values has been carried out in two forms. First, Islamic values become material in the guidance process. The second, Islamic values become a method of group guidance and counseling.

Abstract

A career as a process that individuals will undertake in the future, needs to be carefully prepared since they are at the SMA / SMK education level. Through careful career planning, students can easily make the right decisions about their careers. As for the obstacles that occur, students cannot make their own career decisions which are caused by low self-efficacy/self-confidence. The purpose of this study is to explain the role of counseling guidance services in developing student self-efficacy in achieving career decisions. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach and a descriptive-analytical method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and interviews. Symptoms of low self-efficacy experienced by students are 1) difficulty to make career decisions, 2) not confident in their career plans, 3) worry that they are not absorbed in the world of work. Group guidance services are carried out in 4 stages, namely the initial stage, the transition stage, the activity stage, and the final stage. The results of the counseling service show that students have good self-efficacy, can make career decisions, are confident, and do not experience worries about their career plans.

Abstract

This study is the branch of the big topic concerning Islamic counseling that is exclusively studied through Sufism approach. The Sufism concept of Ibn Athaillah in Kitab Al-Hikam is described in order to be an approach of Islamic counseling as the result of the harmonious combination between psychology and Sufism to actualize human mental health. The scope of this study is focused on the main problem namely how Sufism concept of Ibn Athaillah can be used as counseling approach. The method used in this study is literature review type qualitative approach. The primary data are collected from Kitab Al-Hikam by Ibn Athaillah As-Sakandari. The secondary data are collected from various supporting literatures concerning Sufistic counseling. Data are collected using documentation method. Then, the data are reduced and analyzed. The result of this study indicates that Sufism concept is always focused on heart and soul management in order to draw closer to Allah. This can be made to be one of approaches in Islamic counseling. Sufism concept of Ibn Athaillah stresses more on riyadhah al-qulub namely emphasis in the aspect of heart condition in guiding someone that wants to go to the path of goodness. The conclusion is that in conducting spiritual counseling, Sufism approach is relevant to be the basis and spiritual counseling method. Riyadhah al-qulub or emphasis on heart aspect is psychosufistic counseling based on Sufism concept of Ibn Athaillah As-Sakandari.

Abstract

Mastery of counseling service skills for counseling teachers always needs to be done to improve the professionalism and quality of counseling guidance services in schools. One way to improve the skills of counseling teachers is through the supervision of counseling guidance. This study aims to describe the guidance and counseling teachers' understanding of the skills they have in carrying out counseling services and to describe the implementation of counseling guidance supervision activities at SMA Rejang Lebong. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population of this study was all high school counseling teachers in Rejang Lebong. The results showed that some of the skills often used in counseling services were questioning skills, providing support and reinforcement, listening, closing, empathy, clarification, problem-solving, focusing, and encouraging skills. While skills that are rarely or not yet mastered include focusing, paraphrasing, confrontation, opening up, and reframing skills. The results of the evaluation of the counseling guidance supervision activities showed that 80.73% of the supervisors said they had understood, mastered, and implemented several counseling service skills taught by supervisors in providing counseling services in schools, and only about 19.27% said they had not mastered and had not fully implemented the skills taught by a supervisor.
